Recollections was established in Melbourne in 1987 with the aim of offering affordable home products to the period home renovator and professional builder. From this small beginning we have grown to a chain of 27 stores in across Australia and New Zealand.
We specialise in domestic lighting, bathroom, architectural hardware and associated renovation and building products in period styles. Our range includes bathroom features such as freestanding clawfoot bathtubs; classic lighting for indoors and out; reproduction hardware including electrical switches; fireplaces and fire accessories; outdoor and garden furniture; decorative homewares and accessories in traditional styles.

Our dedicated team sources our product range locally and globally to bring you the highest value and quality renovation and building products. Much of our wide range has been developed exclusively and can only be found at our stores. Constant review of manufacturing techniques brings space age finishing to age-old product designs to ensure lasting quality for many years of hard use.

In 2005 we became part of ESR Group Holdings Pty Ltd (ESR) - a company formed to accommodate the merging of the Early Settler and Recollections brands. ESR is an Australian-owned company specialising in Home Furnishings, Renovation and Building products of Traditional, Period and Country Design.
Wherever possible you will find Recollections and Early Settler at the one location. The marriage of traditional furnishings with traditional home products and fixtures gives you a one-stop shop reminiscent of the first ‘department stores’ of yesteryear. Other ESR Stores
Early Settler’s first store was established in 1985 in Victoria trading in Country style furniture. Over the next 20 years Early Settler grew to 23 stores operating throughout Australia and New Zealand and expanded its range to include classic colonial, European and contemporary styles. Early Settler specialises in high quality timber and soft furnishings with matching homewares.
